Critical Parameters are denoted in the input-properties table of your licenced EA with [C] as a prefix to the parameter title/descriptor.

Critical parameters are exactly that - 'Critical' to ensure that your EA will run as expected - in many cases, if you do not input your desired decision on a critical parameter, then the EA will either unload automatically from the chart, or it simply will not run!

To access the user-input properties table : Once you have loaded the EA to your Symbol Chart, simply 'right-click' on the chart and then select Expert Advisor / Properties...

Our suggestion is to first work through the Critical Parameters and also the Important - Platform Generic Parameters and then save those settings as a generic 'Master Entry' preset file. Later, when you start optimising the Important Symbol-Unique parameters, then you will expand the saving of your 'Master Entry' file giving each Symbol a unique name by adding a suffix in the file name, eg : MasterEntry_AUDCAD. You should then save the file to the appropriate folder, as previously discussed and detailed. As you proceed through the optimisation process, always remember to be sure that you are working on the correct file, by Loading it from the properties table and then saving it as you make changes/optimisations.
The first Critical Parameter that you must make a decision on, looks like this :

You will find this parameter quite far down the properties table list - simply scroll down and look for the [C] Prefix and then the associated text:

Trader MUST load own optimised EA ++ 99WS Risk Disclaimer

(take note of the icon colour - it can help you find the parameter quicker)

This is a Critical selection because it further supports the Risk Disclaimer document which you will of course already read, understood and signed. When you select 'true' against this parameter, you are effectively re-acknowledging this disclaimer for every single trade that you take - you are acknowledging that every automated trade that the AlgoEdge trading system executes on your behalf is your own self-directed trading decision.

This Critical Parameter has a default setting of 'false' - if you do not change the setting to 'true' then the EA will simply not run and will execute no trades - you therefore MUST change the setting to True and if you are not comfortable in doing so, then you will have to stop trading with the AlgoEdge Trading system.
The second Critical Parameter that you must make a decision on, looks like this :

You will find this parameter towards the top of the properties table list - simply look for the [C] Prefix and then the associated text:

input EA approved Broker - needs exact match (def = BROKER)

(take note of the icon colour - it can help you find the parameter quicker)

This is a Critical selection because the EA licence which you have secured will only work with brokers to which we have associated the licence . As we have explained elsewhere on this website, we currently only associate licences with one of our 'Trusted' brokers, although we may allow additional brokers where you have secured the licence through a third-party offering, or if we have specifically customised the EA offering for you (at an additional fee). Your most likely selection here would therefore be 'AVATRADE' as this is currently our selected trusted brokers.

This Critical Parameter has a default setting of 'BROKER' - if you do not change the setting to 'AVATRADE' (or other, where licenced to do so) then the EA will simply unload after you have loaded it and will print an associated error to your MT4 Experts tab - you therefore MUST change the setting to AVATRADE (or similar, per licence) in order to proceed.
The third Critical Parameter that you must make a decision on is actually a pair of parameters and looks like this :

You will find this pair of parameters towards the bottom of the properties table list - simply scroll down and look for the [C] Prefix and then the associated text:

input correct SYMBOL "exactly" as used by the Broker

input also "common-name" SYMBOL - per EA documentation

(take note of the icon colour - it can help you find the parameter quicker)

This is a Critical selection because the EA licence which you have secured will only work with (a) the specific symbols that are associated with the AlgoEdge EA grouping that you have selected; (b) The broker-issued naming variant that is used to represent this symbol - surprisingly, broker naming conventions for the exact same derivitive instrument can differ quite substantially, so it is important that you represent the name exactly as used by the broker in this field. Of course, if you are using the same broker that we use (AVATRADE) then the Symbol name will be exactly the same in both of these fields and will match both the AlgoEdge documentation and Broker documentation for the selected symbol.

This Critical Parameter has a default setting of 'SYMBOL' - if you do not change the setting/s to match both the AlgoEdge EA documentation and also the Broker naming convention for the symbol onto which you are attaching the EA, then the EA will simply unload after you have loaded it and will print an associated error to your MT4 Experts tab - you therefore MUST change the setting/s to match the appropriate symbol reference naming in order to proceed.
The fourth Critical Parameter that you must make a decision on looks like this :

You will find this parameter towards the top of the properties table list - simply look for the [C] Prefix and then the associated text:

S&P500 default = US_500; change to exact broker variant

(take note of the icon colour - it can help you find the parameter quicker)

This is a Critical selection because the EA licence which you have secured works by dynamically retrieving and statistically reviewing (over a 6 month period - yes, the Algo does this automatically for you and constantly updates it) the alignment and strength of correlation between the Symbol which you are looking to trade against the SP500 (USA Index for the top 500 Market Cap shares on the NYSE) ; as explained elsewhere on the 99WS website, we do also offer an option to over-ride this dynamic alignment with a weekly Commitment of Traders (COT) assessment, but this is a complex undertaking and is therefore an optional "top-up" licence, which comes at an additional cost to the default AlgoEdge EA offering. Surprisingly, broker naming conventions for the SP500 can differ quite substantially, so it is important that you represent the name exactly as used by the broker in this field. Of course, if you are using the same broker that we use (AVATRADE) then the SP500 will match the provided default (at the time of writing) : US_500

This Critical Parameter has a default setting of 'US_500' - meaning that you will not likely need to change this, provided that you are sharing the trusted broker that we use (AVATRADE) - if you do, for any reason, have a different name for SP500 captured here which does not match that used by your selected broker, then the EA will simply unload after you have loaded it and will print an associated error to your MT4 Experts tab - you therefore MUST simply confirm the reference naming in order to proceed.
The fifth Critical Parameter that you must make a decision on looks like this :

You will find this parameter towards the top of the properties table list - simply look for the [C] Prefix and then the associated text:

match Broker LEVERAGE :1-10; 20; 25; 30; 50; 100; 200; 400

(take note of the icon colour - it can help you find the parameter quicker)

This is a Critical selection because the EA licence which you have secured includes a grouping of carefully selected and diverse derivative instruments, including foreign exchange currencies (forex), digital assets and financial derivative products that cover ETF’s, stocks, commodities, metals, bonds, options and market indexes – all of these financial derivative instruments are traded on margin through a 3rd party broker service and each derivative instrument is assigned a specific leverage by the broker that can vary tremendously (often in a range from 1:1 up to 400:1, or even higher), with the leverage being assigned by a number of risk considerations that the Broker alone assesses. Naturally, it is important that the leverage consideration undertaken by the AlgoEdge EA needs to precisely match the consideration that is used by the Broker. Even where you are using the same broker that we use (AVATRADE) there will still be the need to align this Leverage number for each Symbol in the deck to which your EA licence refers.

This Critical Parameter has a default setting of 1.0 - meaning that you will need to change this setting to match the Leverage that your selected broker provides for the specific Symbol chart onto which you are attaching the EA - if you do, for any reason, have a different leverage setting than what the Broker uses, then the Algorithmic calculations and associated trading entries, lot sizing and exit points will differ from expectation and design intent - you therefore MUST simply confirm the reference LEVERAGE in order to proceed. Your Broker will always have their respective leverage, by Symbol, published on their website, otherwise contact their support directly for the information required.
